CENTRAL WISCONSIN
2009 Rules / Guidelines
The Central Wisconsin Youth Trap League will emphasize safe gun handling, responsible recreational shooting and accountability for your actions. The same benefits that are promoted for interscholastic sports are offered in this program as well, team concepts, camaraderie and self – esteem are a valued end-product for all participants.
All shooters must be enrolled in school (12 years old through a senior in High School), attending on a regular basis and successfully completed a Hunters Ed class. (Home-schooled shooters are allowed to participate, but must shoot for the school in the district in which they live)
ZERO TOLERANCE!!
Ear protection and safety glasses are required.
Unless you are on the line and shooting all actions must be open.
Keep guns pointed in a safe direction at all times.
When shooting keep the gun pointed down range at all times, especially if you get a broken target or your gun misfires.
You may join the league at any time. If you join after week three, you will not be eligible for individual trophies and team scores cannot be made up.
An individual league fee of $5.00 is required which covers all trophies, medals, food and drink at a bust up / awards party.
To be eligible for trophies, shooters must have scores posted for all weeks of league shooting.
If you shoot more than once per week, your scores will apply to the next available week without a score. You must indicate on the score sheet prior to shooting what week that round should be recorded in and or if it is a practice round.
A team must have 5 shooters on it or as many as 30 if needed. Only the top 5 scores from each team will represent the team score. The team score is then put up against the team score of that weeks opponent.
You may only sign up for one round at a time. You must shoot your first score, than return to registration to sign up for the next round.
Mark the score sheet with your ID number at sign up. You can shoot ahead but you can be no more than one week behind.
Misfires, leaving the safety on or shooting and missing a broken target is not a problem. You can shoot it over and it won’t count as a loss.
In case of two or more teams being tied with wins and loses at the end of league, the winner will be determined by Head to Head competition the week those teams shoot against each other.
Individual Medal Guidelines: Individuals medals will be awarded by age groups. In case of ties each shooter will receive a medal and there will be no shoot offs.
Shooting for the league ends the last Saturday of league.
It is the shooters responsibility to provide transportation to and from each shoot.
Shooters must provide their own equipment: guns, shells, shell pouches, safety glasses & ear protection.
All league shooting will be on Saturday mornings, starting at 9:00 and ending at 12:00.
